Barolo, Italy, 4 July 2023 - Gufram is pleased to present the new Ron Ron®. The ironic piece is now available in black and white versions of its fluffy fur.

Ron Ron®, created by the multifaceted artist Marion Baruch in 1972, became part of the Gufram family thanks to the important work of recovering the memory of radical design, which the Italian brand carries out by bringing back forgotten projects that have made the history of this movement.

Defined by its own creator as a "companion object", the Ron Ron® has a soft soul of polyurethane foam, which is upholstered with a white or black cloth that is perfectly similar to a soft premium ecological fur. This is the only furry object within the Gufram collection.

Ron Ron® is to all intents and purposes an inanimate pet that shows affection and is made to keep company, designed to be hugged or used as a seat. Hence the name, which obviously recalls the sound of the purring. Its zoomorphic aesthetic is completed by a tail: be careful not to pull it or Ron Ron will get annoyed!

Exhibited in some of the most important museums all over the world and auctioned by the most famous auction houses globally, Ron Ron®’s function is to brighten with its sly presence those moments of domestic relaxation.

About Gufram

Founded in Turin in 1966 and now part of Sandra and Charley Vezza’s Italian Radical Design group, Gufram was originally born as an artisanal entity and is now globally known for pushing the limits of industrial design.

With its Radical Design spirit and its nonconformist experimentation linked to aesthetics, and technological and material research, over the years Gufram has created playful, subversive and desecrating pieces. Design icons that have become unique in form and value because of the cross-contamination between industrial design, artisanal creation, and imaginative flair, typical of art.

The brand’s research commitment has driven the company to master the treatment of flexible polyurethane and to the development of Guflac®, a special finish patented by Gufram to have more uniform, cohesive and elastic surfaces through accurate and meticulous craftsmanship processes.

Gufram’s unmistakable furniture items, such as the BOCCA® lips sofa, the PRATONE® chaise lounge and the CACTUS® hall tree, also known as domestic sculptures, represent an interpretation of the contact point between art and design, and are now displayed in some of the most beautiful houses and most renown museums worldwide.
